Crown and bridge

About Crown and bridge

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is placed over the visible part of a tooth. Crowns are used to restore broken-down teeth or cosmetically change their appearance. A dental bridge is a series of connected crowns used to fill a gap in your smile left by one or more missing teeth.
A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth. It consists of a porcelain false tooth or teeth that is cemented to crowns on at least two abutting natural teeth. Dental implants are another method for replacing missing teeth. The best indications for doing a bridge rather than implants is when the adjacent teeth have or need crowns, if there isn’t enough bone or soft tissue for an implant, or the patient doesn’t wish to opt for implant surgery. Our doctors can evaluate what would be best for your circumstances.
